Newburgh Police Find Body Of 55-Year-Old Woman

NEWBURGH, NY — Newburgh city police are investigation the death of a 55-year-old woman.

City of Newburgh Police Department said the body of the woman was found shortly after 9 a.m. Monday behind a building in the area of William Street and Carson Avenue.

Officers who responded and processed the scene found that the circumstances of the woman's death do not appear to be suspicious in nature.

Her identity is not being released at this time, police said, to respect her family.

Police are looking for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.
