Newburgh Teen Accused Of Menacing Central Hudson Worker; Trying To Set Utility’s Vehicle On Fire
The 19-year-old faces arson and menacing charges following the Dec. 1 incident, according to police.
NEWBURGH, NY — A local teen is accused of harassing a Central Hudson employee and trying to light the utility’s vehicle on fire.
Jerson Perez-Sanchez, 19, of Newburgh, has been charged with fourth-degree arson and second-degree menacing.
Mike Neppl, city chief of staff, said the charges stem from an encounter on Monday afternoon.

Police were dispatched on Dec. 1 around 2:23 p.m. to the area of 24 S. Miller St. for a report of a disorderly male harassing the Central Hudson worker. When police arrived, they found both the worker and Perez-Sanchez at the scene.
According to police, an investigation showed Perez-Sanchez had held a lighter under the Central Hudson vehicle, and then picked up a stick and menaced the worker.
