PORT JERVIS, NY — A New Jersey man has been sentenced for his role in an early morning robbery that was solved after a multi-jurisdiction investigation.

DA Hoovler thanked the City of Port Jervis Police Department for their investigation which led to the arrest of Hill. He also thanked the Newton (NJ) Police Department and Sussex County (NJ) Prosecutor's Office for their assistance during the investigation.

"Violent criminals are emboldened by the illegal possession of dangerous firearms," Hoovler said. "In Orange County we will not stand by and allow violent crime to occur without consequence. We have demonstrated a laser focus on the issue of illegally possessed guns because we see every day the ramifications of the use of these weapons by those with no business carrying a gun. We will not halt our dedicated pursuit of these crimes and the criminals responsible. I thank all of the law enforcement agencies, state, local and across state lines who helped us to close this case and deliver justice on behalf of the citizens of Orange County."

The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Nicholas Mangold.
