Police arrested Abad within 24 hours of discovering the two victims, identified as Evelyn Aguilar-Agustin and Anabelly Aguilar, officials said.
Police claim Abad struck the women on the head and body “numerous times,” and prevented them from calling the police for help, a felony complaint shows.
Abad has been arraigned and is in custody at the Rockland County Jail.
Police described the case as an “isolated incident,” and they said Abad and the two victims all knew each other. There are no continuing threats to the public, police said.
