Person Rescued From Underneath Tractor In Millerton

Fire officials said the tractor rolled over into a stream Tuesday afternoon.

MILLERTON, NY — A person was rescued Tuesday from underneath a tractor that rolled over.

The Millerton Fire Company said it was sent around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday for a tractor that rolled over into a stream with a person pinned underneath on Old Post Road 2, off of Route 22 in the town of North East.

About 70 fire department, medical and police personnel were on the scene, including Lakeville Fire, Salisbury Rescue, Copake Fire, Town of Amenia Medic 1 and Town of North East Medic 1.

The person who was pinned was extricated and taken by helicopter to a hospital, fire officials said.

Also on the scene assisting were Life Net Air 2, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police and a heavy wrecker from Hillsdale Repair.
