Pilot Of OceanGate Submarine Was Dutchess County Resident

HOLMES, NY — The pilot of the ill-fated OceanGate submarine that imploded during a dive to the wreckage of the Titanic was a Holmes resident.
Paul-Henri Nargeolet, 77, who was one of five people in the submarine Sunday, moved to Dutchess County from Kent, Connecticut in January 2022, MidHudson News reported.
He bought a $1.5 million home on Route 292 in Holmes, which is a hamlet in the town of Pawling.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard and an announcement from the company that operates the tour, all five people on board the submersible are believed dead.
