Police ID Driver Killed In Fatal One-Car Crash Early Saturday Morning
She had been traveling on Old Post Road, when she lost control of her Kia Sorento and struck a tree on the shoulder of the road.
TOWN OF MARLBOROUGH, NY — Authorities have identified the victim of an early morning fatal crash.
New York State Police say that on Saturday, around 5:22 a.m., troopers from Highland responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash on Old Post Road, in the town of Marlborough.
An investigation found that the driver and only occupant of the 2014 Kia Sorento, was 34-year-old Maria Hyde, of Poughkeepsie.

She had been traveling north on Old Post Road, when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree on the eastern shoulder of the roadway, according to state police.
Hyde was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers were assisted at the scene of the crash by the Town of Marlborough Police Department.
State police say the investigation is ongoing and ask that anyone who witnessed the accident contact the State Police Highland Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-691-2922.
