Police Investigating Stabbing In City Of Poughkeepsie

The victim is expected to recover, according to police.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department is investigating a stabbing that happened Tuesday.

Police said they received a 911 call reporting a stabbing shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Rose Street.

Officers and detectives were sent to the area and found a 39-year-old person with a stab wound to the abdomen.

It was reported the suspects fled the area before police arrived, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to recover, police said.
