Poughkeepsie Man Fatally Shot Early Tuesday
Police are investigating whether a second shooting that happened shortly after the first was related.
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A 28-year-old city of Poughkeepsie man was shot and killed overnight Tuesday.
The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department said they received calls around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday about a shooting at 238 Mansion Street.
Responding officers found the 28-year-old lying in the street next to his car.

He was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he died of his wounds, police said.
Authorities said his name will not be released until family members are notified.

A short time after the Mansion Street shooting was reported, police said, another gunshot victim walked into the police department. The 44-year-old man, a city of Poughkeepsie resident, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.
He provided limited information to detectives about his shooting, police said.
It is unknown at this time, according to law enforcement, if these two shootings are related. Detectives are actively investigating both incidents.
