Prosecutors said Livingston violated a full stay-away order of protection in favor of his former intimate partner by breaking into her town of Newburgh home Dec. 22, 2020.

When he pleaded guilty, he admitted that there was a valid order of protection that said he had to to stay away from the woman and her home.

He admitted in court that he broke into her home Dec. 22, 2020, and damaging property throughout it.

Prosecutors said he broke through the door and demanded to see some children who were hiding in a closet with their grandmother.

He also took his former partner's phone from her to prevent her from calling 911 and striking her.

After the burglary, Livingston fled to Georgia where he was eventually arrested and returned to New York to face charges.

Hoovler said Livingston's outrageous conduct not only endangered the adult victims of his crime, but children as well.

"Those offenders who fail to abide by orders of protection and who commit violent acts against the protected parties deserve significant incarceratory sentences," he said.

Hoovler also urged any victims of domestic violence to reach out to law enforcement and groups such as Fearless! Hudson Valley for help.

"Survivors of these crimes deserve our admiration and assistance," he said.
