Report Of Stolen Car Leads To Finding Stolen Gun: NYSP

LIVINGSTON, NY — A report of a stolen car led to finding a stolen gun in Columbia County.
The New York State Police said, shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday, an investigator saw a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe which was known to have been stolen which was being driven on Route 9 near Stickles Road.
While coordinating with uniform patrols in the area, a traffic stop was conducted.

The investigation confirmed the car had been reported stolen from Livingston July 8.
Additionally, three men were found to be in possession of a small amounts of both crack cocaine and heroin as well as a stolen Ruger 17 HMR rifle, police said.

Authorities said Carlyle C. Gill, 35, of Livingston, Matthew J. Cornacchia, 33, of Greeport, and Jamie L. Shook, 39, Hudson, were arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, felonies, and two counts seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors.
All three were each issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Livingston Court Thursday.
