Scattered Power Outages After Heavy Morning Rains In Hudson Valley

Restoration is estimated to be on Wednesday morning, according to the power companies.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — After an early morning of heavy rain, some residents of Putnam and Ulster counties are waiting for the lights to come back on Wednesday.

Outage reports on the Central Hudson website, as of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, show there are more than 3,400 customers without electricity.

While there are a few pockets of outages, the largest area in Putnam County is in Philipstown, where 1,485 customers are hoping the electricity will be restored by an estimated time of noon.

In Ulster County, the town of Hurley was hardest hit with 1,933 outages. Woodstock has 626 customers without power. According to Central Hudson, the estimated time of restoration is 10 a.m. for those communities.

In Westchester County, Con Edison is reporting 88 customers in Ossining and 25 in the town of Yorktown without electricity. The power company is estimating restoration in both areas for 10 a.m. Wednesday.
