Severe Thunderstorm Warning In Effect For Mid-Hudson Valley

The main threat is damaging wind gusts, meteorologists said.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — As the heat wave continues in the Hudson Valley, the possibility of severe weather increases.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of the mid-Hudson Valley.

It is in effect until 9 p.m. Thursday for Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties.

Heavy downpours could result in localized flooding of urban, poor drainage and low-lying areas and isolated flash flooding.
