Special Drug Task Force Nabs NJ Man Accused Of Dealing Drugs Out Of Hudson Valley Apartment: DA

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — An undercover sting has disrupted a drug dealing operation in Dutchess County, according to authorities.

The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office says that its Drug Task Force arrested 33-year-old William Oliver, of New Jersey, after an investigation into the sale of narcotics and dangerous drugs in the Town of Pleasant Valley and nearby areas.

The investigation started after the task force began purchasing narcotics from Oliver out of an apartment within the Pleasant Valley Garden Apartments, in the Town of Pleasant Valley.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for Oliver's home, according to the DA's Office.

On October 8, Drug Task Force agents, with the help the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Emergency Service Unit (SWAT) and the Poughkeepsie SWAT team, executed a search warrant at Oliver's home where officials say he was taken into custody without incident.

Oliver was taken to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and charged with felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Authorities say that other charges against Oliver are pending.

He was arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.

The Drug Task Force says that it "is disrupting the sale of dangerous drugs in our communities and holding narcotic and dangerous drug dealers accountable."

The task force was assisted by the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office Dangerous Drugs and Violent Crime Unit, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol Bureau, the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit, the City of Beacon Police Department, the Town of Fishkilll Police Department, the Town of East Fishkill Police Department, the Town of Hyde Park Police Department, the Town of Pleasant Valley building department, and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department during the investigation.

"The continued collaboration between the listed agencies is the reason the Drug Task Force is so successful," the task force added.
