State Trooper Accused Of Sexual Abuse
The trooper, assigned to Troop T — Thruway, is schedule to appear in court Wednesday.
MONROE, NY — A New York State Police trooper was arrested after being accused of sex abuse.
State police said Matthew A. Stivala, 32, of Monroe, was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree criminal sex act and two counts of first-degree sex abuse – forcible compulsion, all felonies, and forcible touching, a misdemeanor.
Authorities said the charges stem from multiple incidents involving Stivala and a victim who were known to each other.

He was arrested in the town of Monroe and was arraigned and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail, $150,000 partially secured bond or $200,000 bond.
Stivala is schedule to reappear in the Village of Harriman Court Wednesday.

State police said he is currently assigned to Troop T which covers the Thruway.
