Suspect Arrested In Main Street Hit-And-Run That Injured Woman, 3-Month-Old Baby: Police

The man police say was driving has been charged with felony second-degree assault, and felony first-degree reckless endangerment.

CITY OF POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A suspect has now been arrested in connection to a gruesome hit-and-run in Dutchess County.

The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department says that on Monday, officers found and arrested 28-year-old Orville M. Gor-Ondiek after an investigation into the hit-and-run.

The incident took place on Main Street, on September 27, when a woman and a 3-month-old child were struck. Both victims were injured.

The vehicle fled the scene after the incident, investigators said,

Gor-Ondiek has been charged with felony second-degree assault, felony first-degree reckless endangerment, in addition to misdemeanor charges and traffic violations.

He was processed at City of Poughkeepse Police Department headquarters. Following arraignment, Gor-Ondiek was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.
