Teen Charged In Newburgh Weapon Discharge: PD

The incident happened in November on Chambers Street, according to police.

NEWBURGH, NY — A 16-year-old resident is accused of firing a gun on Chambers Street in November.

Police said they were summoned to the area of 167 Chambers St. for a report of shots fired on Nov. 22, 2024 at about 1:38 p.m.

No one was injured, according to police. Officers did find evidence of a shooting, including eleven 9-millimeter shell casings, police said.

The city’s Non-Fatal Shooting Team launched an investigation and identified a 16-year-old male as the suspect, according to police.

Police announced the Feb. 26 arrest on its Facebook page on Thursday. Police did not provide the exact charges lodged against the teen.
