Traffic Stop Lead To Arrests On 9W For Illegal Ghost Guns: NYSP
While speaking with the SUV occupants, troopers saw an open container of alcohol, sparking the investigation, New York State Police said.

TOWN OF LLOYD, NY — New York State Police say that on Tuesday, around 8:05 p.m., members of the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) saw a 2021 GMC traveling on Route 9W in the town of Lloyd, committing several traffic violations.
Troopers stopped the SUV and identified the driver as 37-year-old Jarred S. Suitter, of Kingston, and the passenger as 29-year-old Trent M. Heiney, of Accord. While speaking with the vehicle occupants, troopers saw an open container of alcohol, which initiated an impairment investigation, officials said. It was revealed that Suitter was impaired, leading to his arrest and charge of driving while intoxicated, according to troopers.
In addition, a search of the vehicle uncovered two 9MM Polymer 80 ghost guns, according to police. Heiney was also arrested, and both men were taken to State Police Highland for processing.

Suitter was charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanor driving while intoxicated (first offense), and several uniform traffic tickets.
Heiney was charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of third-degree felony criminal possession of a weapon, and two counts of felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Suitter and Heiney were arraigned in the Ulster County Centralized Arraignment Part on Wednesday, and were released on their own recognizance. Both men were due back in the Town of Lloyd Court on Thursday.
