Ulster County Coronavirus: 640 Active Cases As Of Wednesday

ULSTER COUNTY, NY — As of Wednesday, 1,621 people have tested positive for the new coronavirus in Ulster County, officials report. Of those cases, 640 remain active and are currently being monitored by the county. The total number of active cases by municipality is listed below.

The county reports 910 people have recovered after being diagnosed with the virus that has claimed the lives of 71 county residents.

Last week, New York officials released reopening guidelines for essential and nonessential businesses. The guidelines come ahead of a planned phase one business reopening for regions that have satisfied the state's seven metrics.

As of Wednesday, the Mid-Hudson Valley had satisfied five of the metrics but fell short in showing a decline in deaths and meeting a required number of contact tracers.

Once the Mid-Hudson Valley satisfies all seven metrics, the following industries will be allowed to reopen with mandatory restrictions and recommendations in place.

• Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting
• Retail - (Limited to curbside or in-store pickup or drop off)
• Manufacturing
• Wholesale Trade
