Ulster County Fair Set To Open
There will be fair food, midway rides, entertainment and farm animals.

NEW PALTZ, NY — It’s fair time once again in Ulster County.
Beginning Tuesday, the Ulster County Fair will open its gates for the public to enjoy farm animals, entertainment, food and rides.
Headline entertainment, which is free with admission to the fair, will include country star Lee Greenwood, Kentucky Headhunters, Thompson Square and JD Leonard (As Garth).

Daily entertainment includes Robinson’s Racing Pigs, Cowboy Circus — The World’s Smallest Rodeo and stilt walker Carrie McQueen. Fireworks are scheduled for Wednesday at dusk.
Horse shows will take place every day except Tuesday, and at 11 a.m. Sunday will be the Ulster County Fair’s Annual Baby Contest for tykes up to 18 months.

Dreamland Amusements will offer more than 20 midway rides.
On Tuesday, from 4 p.m. until closing, admission is $50 per carload with a maximum of eight people in each car. Carload admission includes parking and all midway rides, exhibits and shows.
Daily admission, Wednesday through Sunday, is $20 per person which includes all midway rides, exhibits, shows and parking.
The hours for the Ulster County Fair are:
- Tuesday: Gates and Midway open 4 p.m.-10 p.m.
- Wednesday: Gates open 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Midway opens 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
- Thursday: Gates open 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Midway opens 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
- Friday: Gates open 10 a.m.-11 p.m., Midway opens 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
- Saturday: Gates open 10 a.m.-11 p.m., Midway opens 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
- Sunday: Gates open 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Midway opens 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
The Ulster County Fairgrounds is at 249 Libertyville Road in New Paltz. Delays coming from Route 299 can be expected.
