Ulster Man Accused Of Making Sexual Comments To A Child Over Video

WAWARSING, NY — An Ulster County man was accused of making sexual comments to a child.
The New York State Police said troopers were sent to a residence in the town of Napanoch for a report of a verbal dispute.
The investigation found that Daryl C. Scheringer, 73, of Wawarsing, was involved in a verbal fight with someone after it was discovered he’d contacted an 11-year-old child to whom he had made inappropriate sexual comments during a video call, police said.

Scheringer was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Wawarsing Court June 23.
