Vassar Brothers Medical Center Appoints Trauma Chief
Dr. Fausto Vinces has joined the Health Quest Medical Practice Division of Trauma as its medical director.

From VBMC: Dr. Fausto Vinces has joined the Health Quest Medical Practice Division of Trauma as its medical director.
He will clinically and administratively lead the trauma center at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
"My main goal is to position Vassar Brothers Medical Center as the main trauma center in the Hudson Valley and to provide excellent care to all our patients,” Vinces said.

Vinces will also serve as acute care surgery medical director and surgical director of the intensive care unit, or ICU, at Vassar.
He will be responsible for improving the flow and outcomes of patients with traumatic surgical emergencies and recruiting a group of critical care-trained physicians/surgeons who will manage the trauma patients at Vassar.

“Dr. Vinces’ addition will enable us to provide continued excellence in the area of trauma surgery to patients at Vassar Brothers,” said Ian Portelli, assistant vice president of operations, research and trauma at Vassar.
Vinces has more than 20 years of experience in medicine, having most recently served as the chief of trauma and surgical critical care at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. He also worked for NYU-Lutheran Medical Center for several years as the director of trauma and critical care.
While at NYU-Lutheran Medical Center he held positions on various trauma, surgical care, critical care, and education committees.
Vinces earned his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and continued his education with an internship and residency in general surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York.
Vinces is licensed in New York and board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.
