Violence At AutoZone: Fight Leaves 1 Shot Dead, 1 With Stab Wounds

NEWBURGH, NY — A violent fight at an auto parts shop left one man dead of a gunshot wound and another stabbed.

The City of Newburgh Police Department says that they received an emergency call reporting a stabbing on Monday.

The first officers on the scene found two injured men. The injuries were apparently the result of a fight between each other at AutoZone Auto Parts, at 536 Broadway.

One of the men had stab wounds and the other man had a gunshot wound, according to police.

After officers administered medical care to the men, they were both taken to Montefiore St. Luke’s.

The man with a gunshot wound died, while the man who received stab wounds is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Their names are not being released by police at this time.

The City of Newburgh Police Department Detective Division, along with investigators from the Orange County District Attorney's Office, are investigating the fatal incident. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 845-569-7509. Police say that all callers will remain anonymous.
