Wallkill Man Accused Of Stabbing Woman In The Chest

Police he was charged with three felonies and three misdemeanors.

WALLKILL, NY — An Orange County man was accused of stabbing a woman in the chest.

The Town of Wallkill Police Department said officers were sent around 2 a.m. Saturday for a report of an assault on Avoncroft Lane.

Arriving officers found a 43-year-old town of Wallkill woman with a stab wound to the chest.

She was taken to Garnet Health Medical Center by Town of Wallkill Emergency Medical Services for treatment.

The investigation found that Johnathan Harris, 40, of the town of Wallkill, assaulted the woman.

He was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and first-degree criminal contempt, felonies, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and driving while intoxicated, misdemeanors.

Harris was arraigned and sent to the Orange County Jail on $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond until his next court appearance July 20.
