Wappingers Creek Expected To Have Moderate Flooding

Flood stage is 8 feet and it should crest to more than 10 feet, meteorologists said.

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY — A flood warning is in effect from Monday afternoon through Wednesday in Wappingers Falls.

The National Weather Service said that moderate flooding is forecast for Wappingers Creek at Wappingers Falls.

At 11:31 a.m. Monday, the creek was at 6.6 feet. Meteorologists said the creek is expected to rise above flood stage — which is 8 feet — Monday afternoon to a crest of 10.7 feet just after midnight.

It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning.
