Woman Being Sought In Connection With 2 Armed Robberies

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department said the robberies both happened on South Avenue on the same day.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Police in the town of Poughkeepsie are looking for a woman who, they said, was involved in two armed robberies.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department said officers were sent around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday to investigate a report of a robbery involving a handgun at the Chesnut Mobil gas station located at 2605 South Road.

A witness described the suspect as a thin, white female wearing a black parka-style jacket, police said.

Within 10 minutes, the police were notified of a second robbery that happened at the Speedway gas station located at 2545 South Road.

Authorities said that witnesses to both incidents described the suspect the same way, and she had her face partially covered.

The woman fled on foot after both incidents.

Police said a handgun was recovered at the Speedway gas station.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department was assisted by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
