Woodstock Woman Killed In 2-Car Crash

Police said the investigation found the woman crossed over into the oncoming lane of traffic.

SHANDAKEN, NY — A Woodstock woman was killed Friday in a two-car collision in Ulster County.

The New York State Police said, shortly after 6 p.m. Friday, troopers responded to Route 28 and Bridge Street in the town of Shandaken for a report of a two-car crash with entrapment.

An investigation found that a 2002 Subaru Outback, driven by Anna C. Maguire, 79, of Woodstock, was traveling east on Route 28 in the area of Bridge Street in Phonecia when she failed to negotiate a curve and crossed over into the westbound lane, police said.

Maguire’s car struck a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 head-on.

The driver of the truck was identified as Naftali Klein, 22, of Brooklyn.

Police said Maguire was pronounced dead at the scene.

Klein suffered minor injuries and was evaluated at the scene by EMS personnel and decline medical treatment.
