Biker Who Went Berserk On Midtown Motorist Arrested, Police Say
The biker smashed a car's windows, hit the driver with a bike lock and mounted the vehicle in the middle of traffic, police say.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A bicyclist who launched a vicious assault on a Midtown driver stuck in traffic will face assault charges, an NYPD spokesman said.
Emilio Carpenay, 25, was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree assault and criminal mischief for the Jan. 18 attack near East 40th Street and Fifth Avenue, police said. Carpenay, a Queens resident, is accused of using his bicycle to smash through the windshield and rear window of a car and then attacking its driver.
The berserk bicyclist hit the driver over the head with a bike lock when he exited the car to avoid broken glass, police said.

After striking the driver, the cyclist turned his attention back to the car and mounted the vehicle. While standing on the roof of the white sedan, the attacker let out a series of celebratory screams and stomped on the top of the vehicle for good measure, police said.
The driver was treated for injuries at a nearby hospital, police said.
