Bloomberg, Trump To Raise Rescue Dog Bucks In Hell's Kitchen

Georgia Bloomberg and Lara Trump are co-chairs of the cocktail charity event benefiting a doggie nonprofit, Rescue Dogs Rock, next week.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — Bloomberg and Trump aren't two names often seen next to each other. But when it comes to dogs in need, the daughter and daughter-in-law of these two powerful patriarchs are teaming up to help raise money at a Hell's Kitchen cocktail event next week.

Cocktails for Canines, an event next Tuesday to benefit the group Rescue Dogs Rock, is being co-chaired by equestrian Georgina Bloomberg, daughter of former mayor Michael Bloomberg, and TV producer Lara Trump, wife of former president Donald Trump's son, Erik.

So far, the event has already raised over $73,000 in funds for the doggie non-profit.

Rescue Dogs Rock is a non-profit foster-based dog rescue that specializes in the "more difficult, the most urgent, critically injured and expensive dogs to save," including those with intense medical needs, according to their website.

The group has raised nearly $3.5 million in donations, according to their most recent tax filing data, and helps rescue about 1,500 dogs a year, said co-founder Jackie O'Sullivan in a fundraising video.

In 2020, the organization announced they were working to raise $250,000 to open up their own half-acre rescue and rehabilitation center in Suffolk County. According to Animal Fair, the adoption center is still under construction.

Cocktails for Canines is being held on May 2 at Versa on West 35th Street and tickets range from $75 to $15,000 each.
