MIDTOWN, NY — It's spooky season and the crown jewel of Midtown is about to become the crown ghoul.

On Halloween, witches and ghosts and goblins alike are invited to creep over to Bryant Park for their annual free Halloween spookfest, dubbed Tricks and Treats, for an evening of fun, magic and candy.

Between 4 and 6 p.m., the park's Winter Village, which opens just days earlier, will be transformed into a trick or treat scene, giving kids of all ages plenty of opportunity to show off their costumes.

To prepare for the annual sugar demand, costumed guests can get a free trick or treating bag at Le Carrousel, the park's French-style classical carousel.

The ghastly guests can find all sorts of other fun at Le Carrousel, too, including face painting, pumpkin decorating, spider web weaving and mummy wrapping.

And at 5 p.m., the moonlit Halloween Parade begins, featuring the Triad Brass Band.
