Bus Fire at Port Authority Bus Terminal Snarls Evening Commute
Firefighters responded to a bus on fire at about 5 p.m. Thursday evening.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — There were no injuries, but a bus fire at the Port Authority Bus Terminal during the height of the evening commute caused plenty of headaches for bus riders.
According to the FDNY, they responded at 4:56 p.m. to a bus on fire in one of the garages. Two trucks were used to put out the fire. No one was injured, a fire official said.
But the mess inside the terminal proved to be just as much of a pain.

Commuters were crammed into the facility trying to get home, according to people on the scene. NJ Transit warned commuters that busses were running with 15-minute delays, though people on Twitter were more desperate.
