On Oct. 30, the foundation will kick things off with both chefs hosting a "talk and taste" event discussing the traditions of Día de los Muertos. Attendees will also enjoy Gerson's Pan de Muerto along with Castro's Coffe Atole and Hot Oaxacan Chocolate.

For their Oct. 31 event, Castro will lead a hands-on tortilla making class, where you can work with masa dough made from stone-ground nixtimalized corn and learn to use a tortilla press. Castro will also teach how to make quesadillas, bean tetelas, tortillas, and a simple roasted salsa verde, concluding with a big meal showcasing the recipes.
