HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — The movies are back!

In about two weeks, brand-new silver screens will come back to Hell's Kitchen as the new LOOK Dine-In Cinema opens at VIA 57 West (657 West 57th St.), taking over the old Landmark Cinemas location.

Tickets are on sale now for the new theater's first showing at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 4: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Their website shows no other films planned for the first week.

Local news magazine W42ST got a first-look preview of the new space months after they first reported the cinema's revival, confirming that the new theater is not just a "LOOK."

New screens, new seats and a new kitchen, W42ST reported, will help seat and feed guests from all over the west side, with a new menu offering movie classics alongside burgers, wings and salads.

No word yet if LOOK will sell Yonah Schimmel knishes, as their predecessor did.

When Landmark Cinemas left in 2020, they first blamed the location but were later hit with a $48 million suit by property managers The Durst Organization, according to W42ST, accusing the suddenly-departing movie house of owing back rent and theft of at least $1.6 million in equipment.

Since then, developer Douglas Durst had pledged to bring the silver screen back to VIA 57.

"While I cannot promise the knishes will be back, I can promise that the theater will return," a man claiming to be Durst wrote in a comment on the West Side Rag website over two years ago.
