Cop Struck In Midtown By Out-Of-State SUV: Police

A police officer was hit by an SUV in Midtown late Saturday night, officials said.

MIDTOWN, NY — A Midtown officer was hit by an SUV that fled the scene late Saturday night, officials said.

A NYPD officer was standing on the street near 12th Avenue and West 50th Street at about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday night when a gray SUV slammed into him, according to officials.

The crash knocked the officer to the ground and was brought to a nearby hospital in stable condition, officials said.

Police said that the SUV fled the scene northbound on 10th Avenue, describing the vehicle only as gray and with out-of-state plates.
