Donald Trump Announces 'Invite-Only' Victory Party in Midtown on Election Night

The GOP nominee is going low-key with his victory party — in direct opposition to just about his entire campaign.

MIDTOWN, NY — Donald Trump finally decided to go low-key with his campaign, and he literally waited until the very last night. The Republican presidential candidate announced an invite-only party on Election Night at the New York Hilton Midtown — a building not even owned by the real estate mogul.

The party will kickoff at 6:30 p.m., though don't expect Trump to show until hours later. It was unclear exactly how many people would be invited to the Hilton, which is three blocks south of Trump Tower.

"The event is invitation-only for friends and supporters of the Trump-Pence campaign," the campaign said in a statement.

It's in stark contrast to the often-contentious, always-headline-grabbing rallies Trump has held across the country for the last six months. Trump has bragged throughout the campaign about the thousands of attendees who've shown up to his rallies against the paltry hundreds who see Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

But Clinton has already announced the public will be welcomed to her campaign conclusion at Javits Center beginning at 6 p.m. You can RSVP on her site.

The two parties will be about 1.8 miles apart, just a 20-minute subway ride from the 1 train to the 7 train, or vice versa.

Both "victory parties" will be tense, if the latest polls are to be believed. Clinton holds just a 3-point lead in the latest New York Times/CBS poll released Thursday, while the Washington Post/ABC tracking poll shows a 47-45 percent lead for Clinton.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8, by the way. If you didn't know that, you probably don't care about attending either event anyway.
