Dos Toros Taqueria To Open New Midtown Restaurant

The new fast-casual Mexican eatery will offer $1 meals when it opens July 23. It will be Dos Toros' 15th New York City restaurant.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Dos Toros Taqueria will open its 15th New York City location in July and will be giving away $1 meals on its first day of business, a spokesperson to the restaurant chain said.

The new Dos Toros restaurant will debut July 23 at 10 E. 48th St. near Fifth Avenue, a company spokesperson said. In addition to offering $1 burritos, tacos, quesadillas and salads on opening day, the company is also teaming up with the Food Bank New York City to donate a meal for every customer served and every Instagram post with the hashtag #DosToros.

The $1 meals will be offered during peak hours for lunch (11:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m.) and dinner (5 p.m.-7:45 p.m.).

The company, which pits itself as a competitor to other Mexican fast-casual chains like Moe's and Chipotle, is fast expanding in New York City. The East 48th Street location will be the chain's 15th restaurant in the city and is opening just seven months after its 14th restaurant debuted in the Garment District.

The new location will push Dos Toros' total restaurant count to 18 including its three spots in Chicago.

The new restaurant's decor will feature fixtures such as light wood finishes, cacti and light tile walls, according to photos accompanying a press release. All of the food served at Dos Toros is cooked from scratch on location.

Dos Toros currently operates in New York City neighborhoods such as Brooklyn Heights, The Upper East Side, Williamsburg and has many other Midtown locations.
