Elderly Woman Goes Missing From Midtown Shelter, Police Say

Police asked for help finding 87-year-old Muriel Harris, who was last seen at a homeless shelter near Times Square.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — An elderly woman has gone missing from a Midtown shelter, according to police, who asked for help finding her.

Muriel Harris, 87, was last seen around 8 a.m. Sunday inside her home at 127 West 43rd St.: the site of the Woodstock Hotel shelter, between Broadway and Sixth Avenue, police said.

Police described her as Black, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 180 pounds, with black hair and blue eyes.

Harris was last seen wearing a red jacket, black dress, white sneakers and a black head wrap.

Police shared photos of Harris and asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online or on Twitter, @NYPDTips.
