Fifth Avenue To Become Pedestrian And Holiday Haven This December
"The Gift of Fifth" will bring about 500,000 people to enjoy the closed — and safe — streets of Midtown for some holiday magic.

MIDTOWN, NY — Fifth Avenue Open Streets are almost here for the holidays.
Specifically, the first three Sundays in December — that's Dec. 3, 10 and 17 — will host a curated pedestrianized holiday experience along 11 blocks of the storied avenue.
From East 48th Street to East 59th Street, the celebration, dubbed "The Gift of Fifth," will showcase food, drinks, live performances, giveaways and all sorts of holiday celebrations.

The Fifth Avenue Association says they expect about 500,000 people to attend on the three "gift' days.
“Fifth Avenue is always iconic, but during this holiday season everything will be even more exceptional and beautiful,” said Marie Boster, President of Fifth Avenue Association. “The Gift of Fifth gives all New Yorkers and visitors more beauty, more music, more creative seasonal food, and for the first three Sundays in December, more space beyond the sidewalks to take it all in."
