Fire Breaks Out At Grand Central Terminal, FDNY Says

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A fire broke out inside the ducts of Grand Central Terminal on Monday morning, drawing firefighters to the Midtown Manhattan transit hub, an FDNY spokesman said.

The blaze began shortly after 11 a.m. in the system of ducts that run through the train station, an FDNY spokesman said. Firefighters were still battling the flames about an hour later, the spokesman said.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire, officials said. The fire did not affect subway or rail service at the station, according to the MTA.
