MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The Four Seasons, one of Manhattan's iconic "power lunch" destinations, will permanently close less than one year after moving from its original location in the Seagram Building, according to reports.

Tuesday marks the last day of service at The Four Seasons, which is closing after nearly 60 years in business, the New York Times last reported. The restaurant is currently located at East 49th Street and Madison Avenue after opening there in August 2018, but will always be associated with its former space in the Seagram Building on East 52nd Street.

The Four Seasons lost its lease at the Seagram Building in 2016 and was forced to close for two years until its reopening. Less than one year into its second act, the resutarant is closing for good.

"We just couldn’t make it; the restaurant world has changed," managing partner Alex von Bidder told the New York Times. The partner added that the restaurant's investors made the decision to close due to a lack of business.

The past few years have been rocky for the restaurant that was considered revolutionary when it introduced seasonal cooking in the 50s, the Times reported. Managing partner Julian Niccolini was ousted from his position a few months into the reopening following a number of sexual misconduct allegations.
