MIDTOWN, NY — The mini-city in the heart of Midtown is back after a four-year hiatus.

For the first time since 2019, the Holiday Train Show is returning to Grand Central Terminal this year.

Starting Nov. 16, the New York Transit Museum's Holiday Train Show will be on view, bringing an intricate display of model trains, landmarks and a 34-foot-long two level “O” gauge model train layout.

Hosted in the New York Transit Museum Gallery inside the famous train hall, the show features an array of MTA history brought to life.

True rail-heads will see their favorite vintage train cars, like classic redbirds, glide across an intricate set that includes a miniature Grand Central Terminal, a cityscape and a country scene in years past.

That's not the only holiday activity coming to Grand Central.

For one day only, on Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the vendors of Grand Central will host a Thanksgiving Market at the west entrance of the terminal on Vanderbilt Avenue, where late-shoppers, thoughtful guests and accident-prone cooks alike can grab the perfect seasonal item as they jump onto the train to Thanksgiving Dinner.
