Knife-Wielding Group Robs Four In Midtown Park: Police
A group of friends were robbed at knifepoint in a Midtown park on Tuesday morning, losing phones and a bike, authorities said.

MIDTOWN, NY – Shortly before 1 a.m., four friends were sitting outside in Urban Plaza, a Midtown pocket park near 316 West 49th Street between 8th and 9th avenues, when they were approached by a group of seven individuals, police said.
The group of bandits brandished knives, according to police, and robbed the four men of two cell phones and a bicycle.
“They were just sitting in the park, and these guys walked up and robbed them,” an NYPD spokesperson told Patch.

The bandits, who officials described as a group of Hispanic men and one woman, fled in different directions. One headed northbound on 9th Avenue, and the other six fled eastbound on West 49th Street.
The victims – two of whom were aged 26 and 30 – suffered minor injuries, according to police, and were treated at the scene by emergency personnel.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
