Luxury Watches Stolen From Manhattan Gym Lockers, Police Say
Three men are wanted for the robberies, police said.
MANHATTAN, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify three men who have been stealing luxury watches from swanky Manhattan gyms, police said.
The men have stolen nine high-priced watches out of gym lockers since May, police said. The robbery spree started May 3 and has taken place mostly in Midtown Manhattan, but the robbers also hit a gym on Wall Street, police said.
The total value of the stolen watches is estimated to be $98,950, police said. All of the victims placed their watches in locked lockers, which means the thieves are breaking into lockers after gaining access to the gyms, police said. The victims of one robbery found that their lockers were still locked when they finished their workout, but their watches had been removed, police said.
