Man Badly Beaten With Baseball Bat In Midtown Subway Stop: Police

A man was critically injured after two people hit him in the head with a baseball bat in a Midtown subway station on Thursday, police said.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Two people beat a man with a baseball bat inside a Midtown subway station early Thursday, leaving him in critical condition, according to police.

The attack unfolded inside the 57th Street-7th Avenue N-Q-R-W station around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, police said.

The victim, whose identity is still unknown, was approached by two people who struck him in the head multiple times with the baseball bat, leaving him with severe head trauma, police said.

He was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition by Thursday evening, police said.

The two suspects left the station on foot, police said.

Police on Thursday released surveillance footage showing the two suspects walking down the street.
