Construction Worker Fell To His Death In Midtown Thursday: NYPD

The victim's injuries suggested he had fallen from a height, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — A 45-year-old construction worker was pronounced dead in Midtown on Thursday morning, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the man was found near Park Avenue and East 49th Street at 9:38 a.m. on Thursday, and emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police said the victim had injuries consistent with falling from a height, and are investigating the incident.

According to the New York Daily News, the man was working on the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, which is under construction, when he was killed.

No arrests have been made and there is no suspected criminality, police said. The name of the victim is being withheld until the family can be notified, police said.
