Man Hit, Killed By Train In Midtown, Police Say

A 25-year-old man was fatally struck at a Midtown subway station early Monday morning, causing "extensive delays."

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A young man was fatally struck by a train at a Midtown subway station early Monday, according to police.

The 25-year-old man was hit by an uptown D train shortly before 6 a.m. Monday at the 47th-50th Streets–Rockefeller Center station, an NYPD spokesperson said.

The man was seen lying on the tracks, and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

It was unclear whether he had been on the tracks before the collision, or whether he had jumped or fallen in front of the oncoming train, police said.

Following the crash, B and D trains were running with "extensive delays" shortly before 8 a.m., and C, E, F and M trains were also affected, the MTA said in a tweet.
