Man Indicted For Midtown Glass Bottle Attacks: DA Bragg
Michael Howell, 33, was charged with attacking three people in Midtown with glass bottles in October.

MIDTOWN, NY — A man accused of attacking three people with glass bottles in Midtown was indicted on Monday, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.
Michael Howell, 33, left three people cut and bloodied after smashing them with glass bottles on one October evening, according to prosecutors.
Howell was charged with two counts of both first degree assault and attempted assault, as well as three counts of second degree assault, Bragg's office said.

“As alleged, Michael Howell attacked three New Yorkers with glass bottles as they were just trying to go about their regular evening,” Bragg said. “No one should have to experience this type of violence in a Manhattan grocery store or subway station, and I hope the victims fully recover from their injuries.”
On Oct. 5, Howell attacked a 24-year-old man in front of a Whole Foods on Sixth Avenue between West 41st and 42nd streets with a glass bottle, shattering the glass on the man's face, officials said.

Minutes later, Howell then grabbed another bottle from inside the grocery store and smashed it against the face and head of a 49-year-old woman, also shattering the bottle, according to prosecutors.
Just 20 minutes later, after riding the subway one stop uptown, Howell repeatedly hit a 55-year-old woman in the head with another glass bottle while the train was stopped inside of the Rockefeller Center station, officials said.
The three victims were all treated at the scene and at local hospitals for cuts and other wounds to their faces, heads and bodies, according to Bragg's office.
