Man Jumped By Group On Midtown Street, Police Say
A man was beaten and robbed of his phone and wallet while walking on West 29th Street at 4 a.m., police said.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A man was ambushed by a group of robbers while walking down a Midtown Manhattan street during the early morning hours and robbed of his phone and wallet, police said.
The 31-year-old was walking on West 29th Street near Seventh Avenue just after 4 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20 when he was approached by three unknown men, police said. The group assaulted the man, punching him multiple times in the head and torso, an NYPD spokesperson said.
During the attack, the muggers grabbed the victim's wallet and phone, police said. Police valued the stolen goods at $1,000. The victim refused medical attention when medics arrived at the scene, police said.

The robbers fled the scene of the attack and escaped into a nearby subway station, police said. Police released photos of the suspects captured by security cameras inside the station. No arrests have been made in connection with the mugging, police said.
