Man Mugged On Hell's Kitchen Street, Police Say

The 69-year-old victim was thrown to the ground during the robbery, police said.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a robber wanted for mugging an elderly man on a Hell's Kitchen street, police said.

A 69-year-old man was walking on West 51st Street between 10th and Ninth avenues on Friday night when he was approached by an unknown man and thrown to the ground, police said. The mugger grabbed $300 out of the man's pocket and fled the scene, police said

The victim suffered a laceration above his left eye and was treated at Roosevelt Hospital, police said.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s weighing about 170 pounds with black hair, police said. He was last seen wearing a blue and white plaid winter jacket, a black hoodie, light pants, white sneakers and was carrying a light blue bag.
