Man Rips Gold Necklace Off Elderly Woman's Neck in Broad Daylight in Midtown: NYPD
The police are looking for a man who snatched a necklace off a 69-year-old woman on Monday.

MIDTOWN, NY — The Diamond District was the scene of a particularly vicious theft on midday Monday. The NYPD says a man ripped a gold necklace right off an elderly woman's neck and fled into the subway.
The woman, 69, was walking in front of 1196 Avenue of the Americas — a Diamond District jewelry shop — at 12:40 p.m. when the suspect snatched the necklace and jumped on a train at the 47th Street-50th Street/Rockefeller Center station, police said. The woman was not injured in the attack.
Police describe the suspect as 45 to 50 years old, 6-foot and 160 pounds, with a bald head. He was wearing a black jacket, dark jeans and a dark shirt during the theft. The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect as he entered the subway station after the larceny.
